The ministry of the Choir is very important in the Orthodox Church and to be part of the choir of our church requires a lot of training and practice.

In our church we observe the chanting according to the traditional tones set by the Fathers in the Eastern Orthodox Roman Church since its establishments. All our hymns are chanted in one or more tones of the main eight (8) tones and according to the related scale that is not the same as the western scale of the western music.

We adhere in Arabic to the music of the Protopsaltis of the Antiochian Church Miri El Murr, and in English we adopt what is approved by our Archdiocese as authentic “Byzantine” music only; although some other churches of our Archdiocese are adopting some western scaled polyphony chanting.

Khourieh Randa Azar is our Choir Director. She is conducting weekly training for the choir. Everyone is welcome to join our choir through this weekly training.
